Music’s greatest legends – Bansuri (flute) exponent Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Tabla genius Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Ghazal and Bhajan singer Anup Jalota performed to a packed auditorium at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall.

The concert was sponsored by the Foundation of Michigan Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (FOMAPI), and hosted by Dr. Dinesh Shah, Chairperson of the foundation, and Dr. Yash Shah, President of MAPI. This performance was a great opportunity to experience the blending of blissful, beautiful music and vocals of Anup Jalota, Zakir Hussain, and Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia. The audience basked in the purity and glory of their music.

Dr. Dinesh Shah said, “Anytime you have three impressive musicians of this caliber on one stage, you know it will be a memorable evening. It was great to see it filled with people enjoying the sounds of India. Also, the event was for a terrific cause – to expand MAPI’s free health clinics, and to grow our outreach programs to increase awareness of heart disease, stroke and cancer.”

Dr. Yash Shah enthused, “This was one of the most well attended events of FOMAPI, with over 1400 guests. Ustad Zakir Hussain was simply electrifying; Pandit Hari Prasaad Chaurasia was sublime; and Anup Jalota sang divinely. It was a superb evening of music.”
