Welcome to MAPI Auxiliary 2010

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Shubha Kolachalam and I am the president of MAPI Auxiliary for the year 2010.  I would like to welcome all visitors to the MAPI Website and to shed some light on the activities of the MAPI Auxiliary. This auxiliary branch of MAPI has been existence for as many years as MAPI has been in existence and it has played an important role in advancing the interests of MAPI in the state of Michigan for all these years and will do so in the future. We provide much needed support to all the MAPI physician members during MAPI fund raising and the free health fairs that take place throughout the year.

MAPI Auxiliary does one fund-raising event per year to give donations to local charities like the mai  family services, Penrickton School for blind children and the Childrens’ Hospital in Detroit.This year our fund-raising has a new meaning as we raise funds for the Haiti relief fund, as most of us know more than 100,000 have perished in one of the worst natural disasters of our time. We join MAPI in helping out in this hour of need for Haiti. We are hoping to raise enough funds thru our Feb 6th fundraising event, so that we may be able to donate majority of the funds to Haiti relief and also donate to the other local charities who count on our help.

Our board members and I wish everyone a very happy new year and want to let you all know that we are planning a very entertaining and fun-filled fund-raising event this year. It is a Valentine dinner/dance and its theme is HumTum to be held on 6th feb. The website has more information about the event. We are striving to make this event memorable for all who participate in it. We have included raffle tickets, games, rose-sale and other surprise events into the evening. Once you are there I am sure you will feel that this is how all Valentine evenings should be.   As this is a fund-raising event our aim is to sell as many tickets as possible, so I request you all to, please attend this function along with your spouse and friends, have a great and memorable time while donating to a great cause.
