About MAPI Auxiliary
MAPI Auxiliary began some years ago when a small group of women decided to hold their own meetings while their spouses attended seminars. These women wished to share their ideas, explore new areas and just have fun together. As time went on there was more interest and they moved to a more formal structure. By-laws were written and elections to nominate a board were held, leading to the present organization.
The Board's meetings are brainstorming sessions to define the needs of our membership and set priorities for the year. The goals of this organization are rather broad, though important, and may change focus as needed. One of our goals is to improve communication to our membership through regular newsletters/flyers. We will continue to fulfill our social-cultural needs by arranging speakers that will appeal to you, and may even educate us in fields that are new. We plan at least one family oriented activity every year. During these busy times this will be a great way to relax. This will encourage our children to network and develop bonds. Our philanthropic focus in the past has been helping in soup kitchens and supporting battered women's programs. We hope to increase our membership. However, there are still a substantial number of MAPI spouses who remain unconvinced about the need to become members! We urge each current member to recruit one friend and with the increased membership we will be able to improve our programs. Our Board is a group of dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and committed to the vision of the Auxiliary. We hope you will join us to make new friends, discuss issues, and enjoy the camaraderie. Please join our meetings, voice your concerns or needs, and show support for your husband’s involvement in MAPI. All organizations need their members to participate in order to succeed. MAPI AUXILIARY is no exception! |
